Our Vision

Illuminating poverty, injustice, subjugation and other human sufferings are not a distant dream, but one we can realistically achieve. Mercy Universal believes that poverty and other human sufferings must be eradicated through conscious social choices and consideration for others. Help us make this a reality today.

Mercy Universal Aims and Values

Mercy Universal aims to preserve life and promote human dignity through integrated social initiatives relating to healthcare, education, and social and economic support to the deserving.

Mercy Universal Vision

Poverty, injustice, subjugation and other human sufferings are crimes against humanity. They destroy people’s dignity, freedom and hope, decision and power over their own lives. Mercy Universal’s vision is to preserve life and promote human dignity – and we believe that that vision can become a reality.

Our work is focused on the goals and objectives identified in our corporate strategy, ‘Partnership for change – the power to preserve life and promote dignity.

Mercy Universal believes and lives according to the following values:

  • Equality: We believe that the lives of all human beings are of equal value;
  • Respect: We affirm the dignity, potential and contribution of the communities we serve as well as our donors, partners, staff and volunteers.
  • Integrity: We act consistently with our mission of being honest, neutral, impartial and transparent in what we do and say;
  • Partnerships: We work together effectively to serve the larger community;
  • Quality: We constantly challenge ourselves to the highest levels of learning and performance to achieve greater impact.

Solidarity with the poor, vulnerable and excluded will be the only bias in our commitment to the fight against poverty and subjugation. The courage of conviction requires us to be creative, bold and innovative – without fear of failure – in pursuit of making the greatest possible impact on the causes of poverty and suppression irrespective of race, age, gender, colour, class, sex, ethnicity, disability, location and religion.
