Mercy Universal is a global humanitarian organisation consisting of committed teams who are committed to supporting others in need at times of extreme crises, whether natural or man-made.

We work with volunteers around the world to preserve life and promote human dignity through regeneration programmes spanning health care and education as well as socio-economic support. Ultimately, we aim to alleviate immediate needs whether caused by poverty, disadvantage or emergency.

History

Kashmir is one of the most beautiful landscapes in the world and it has been blessed with countless graces and resources. Sadly, however, the people of Kashmir are among the poorest in the world. It is the oldest unresolved international conflict in the world. The state has been witness to various phases of conflict over the last two and half decades, leading to the loss of life of thousands of people, and adding to the overall underdevelopment of its people.

Systematic killing, rape, torture, burning and even sexual mutilation (Amnesty International, March 1992) are the unreported daily sufferings of the people in Kashmir.

To help the people of Kashmir, Mercy Universal was established to preserve the dignity of the most vulnerable and promote their dignity. With help of local partners and volunteers, we supported thousands of vulnerable people to have a respected and dignified life over the last 20 years, focusing on livelihood generation, healthcare, education, relief and rehabilitation.
